Randy Lubin is an entrepreneur and consultant in the San Francisco startup scene. He advises startups on business and product strategy. Randy earned an MBA from Stanford but is a technologist at heart and codes in his spare time.

Raphael D’Amico is an interaction designer, strategist and prototyper currently applying his decade old obsession with behavior change as a member of the Jawbone UP team, which he joined as part of the acquisition of Massive Health, where he was leading the design of its next consumer health product. Raphael holds a Master of Design from the IIT Institute of Design, but he would tell you he has learnt just as much co-founding a hip-hop record label, performing improv in Chicago, raising money for mid-market private equity funds and getting his B.S.c in Economics at the London School of Economics.

Malek Ali is the founder of BFM 89.9. Known for bringing new products to the market, he was head of mobile content at Maxis, and head of mobile operations at Yahoo! Southeast Asia. Prior to that, he was one of the pioneering staff of JobStreet, and was a consultant with The Boston Consulting Group in Kuala Lumpur, and a corporate lawyer with Allen & Overy in London. Daniel started off as a Physicist, studied Industrial Design, then evolved into a User Experience Design Consultant. Prior to starting the Design Gym, he had the pleasure of working on product and service design projects, as well as mobile, web and embedded interfaces for clients from Abbot to Yamaha. He is also 1/4 of GothamSmith, a line of 3D printed products.

Tan Choon Yan - Startup Advocate (APAC), Paypal & Braintree

Choon Yan (CY) is a Startup Advocate in Asia Pacific for PayPal and Braintree.

He previously led the supply chain integration team and did data analysis work for Google in California, working with large contract manufacturers and carriers on Google Android and Chrome products.

Before Google, CY worked as Product Manager and iOS Developer for a Pittsburgh-based startup, Comvibe, on Rental Property Management SaaS solution. When he was in teens, he did freelance websites and scripts and computer assembly for his friends and companies as interest and extra pocket money.

In July 2007, Azran was appointed as CEO of AirAsia X. He led the start-up team that developed the business plan, raised capital, secured relevant licenses, and led the growth from one aircraft to twenty, an annual revenue size of US$1 billion, and in July 2013, becoming the first ever long-haul LCC airline to be taken public.

Prior to his appointment, Azran was formerly the Senior Director of Business Development for Astro All Asia Networks plc, where he led the start-up and operational launch of Astro’s international investments and joint ventures across Southeast Asia, India and Greater China.

Azran was formerly an Associate Partner of McKinsey & Company.

He holds a Masters degree in Management Science and a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, both from Stanford University. He is a Fellow of CPA Australia.

He is 42 years young, a competitive Ultimate Frisbee player, snowboarder, and an Ironman triathlete.

Desmond Lee

After graduating with a BFA (Computer Arts) in 1999 from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, Desmond Lee worked in the United States for five years before returning to Malaysia in 2004. where he worked as a consultant. Lee was later appointed as a consultant and later the producer of the Saladin Animated Series, a flagship of Malaysian 3D animation which was nominated for the International Emmy Awards 2011–Malaysia first Emmy nomination.

In 2011, Lee co-founded Appxplore Sdn Bhd, a mobile games development studio based in Kuala Lumpur. Lee is the currently the producer at Appxplore, with the goal to establish a world-class mobile game and content development studio. Appxplore is now one of the leading mobile games development studio in Malaysia.

Joash Wee

General Manager (South East Asia) - VCNC (Value Creators & Company)

Joash is VCNC’s General Manager of Southeast Asia, leading the regional expansion of couples app Between. Prior to VCNC, Joash headed the editorial team at e27 as editor, covering key developments in the tech startup industry. Born in Kuching and graduated from the National University of Singapore, Joash spent his university years co-founding a digital publishing platform.

In 2011, Lee co-founded Appxplore Sdn Bhd, a mobile games development studio based in Kuala Lumpur. Lee is the currently the producer at Appxplore, with the goal to establish a world-class mobile game and content development studio. Appxplore is now one of the leading mobile games development studio in Malaysia.

Prof. Dr. Ahmad Rafi Mohamed Eshaq – Vice President (Academic) at Multimedia University

Prof Ahmad Rafi started of in MMU as part of the Faculty of Creative Multimedia way back in 1998 and and his research includes virtual reality, 3D animation, architectural visualization, educational technology and multimedia.  Fast forward to 2014, he is now the Vice President (Academic) of MMU and and is also the Deputy Chairman 2 of the Creative Content Industry Guild, Malaysia.
